Mitch devotes his practice to operational, regulatory and transactional health law matters. He regularly advises clients on a variety of health law issues including: anti-fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, EMTALA, Medicare/Medicaid, licensure and certification, managed care contracting, and joint venture planning and implementation. Mitch has worked in both in-house and outside counsel capacities, and currently represents a wide range of health care providers, including both publicly-traded and tax-exempt hospitals, physician entities, and health care related businesses. He also speaks nationally on various health law topics and is active in health care related charity efforts.
Representative Experience
- Provide regular operational and regulatory compliance advice to all types of health care facilities including small and large hospitals, multi-hospital systems, ambulatory surgery centers, and free-standing imaging and radiation oncology facilities;
- Review develop and negotiate a wide variety of contracts for health care providers and facilities including management services agreements, consulting agreements, coverage agreements, physician employment agreements, physician recruiting agreements, facility vendor agreements and more;
- Review and develop clinical policies and procedures for use in a variety of care environments;
- Assist various businesses and professionals in health care related business transactions including asset purchase/sale and business entity formation, acquisition, and divesture;
- Represent medical practices and individual physicians in connection with a variety of health law matters related to daily compliance and operations questions, contracting, reimbursement, health care fraud and abuse, and hospital joint ventures; and
- Assist health care related businesses with regulatory impact evaluations and the design and implementation of compliant health care business structures
